Excursions to Ronda from Marbella on the Costa del Sol

This is one of the most stunning towns in Andalucia as it is perched on top of a cliff, 100m above the Tajo Gorge with spectacular views out over the countryside.

Because of it’s location it has always been a fortress town and was one of the last to be taken from the Moors by the Christians in 1485.

Ronda is also the home of bullfighting with the oldest bullring in Spain being one of it’s main attractions.

As Ronda is only 1 hour away from the Costa del Sol and the popular resort of Marbella, it can be visited on a half day tour or be combined with other activities to extend the day at any time of the year.

Ronda cultural highlights and Tapas tour

A half-day tour that includes luxury bus transport, wine tasting with light tapas and a guided tour of Ronda

The entire tour time would be approximately 4.5 hours total.

Highlights would include:

1. Round trip luxury coach transfer with English speaking local expert guides.

2. Guided light walking tour of Ronda's old quarter with insights into the history of Moorish / Christian influence and battles, Franco's civil war, local artisans, flamenco culture, etc. A further emphasis will be on visiting some of the most scenic lookout areas, hearing local folklore and discovering local wildflowers and herbs. The Ronda trip is highly recommended for these aspects!

3. light tapas lunch with wine (or outdoor catered tapas picnic in a beautiful natural area).

4. Scenic stops during the journey for refreshments and viewing areas to national park areas and surrounding countryside.
