Barcelona Airport
Barcelona is one of Europe’s leading Cities and is the perfect city to host any
kind of Conference.
Barcelona plays host to the Spanish Grand Prix each
year and hosted the Olympic Games in 1992. The only problem with Barcelona as a
Conference destination is that there is so much to see and do you may have a
problem holding the delegates attention!
Barcelona Airport ,Barcelona Airport , El Prat de
Llobregat, is only a fifteen minute taxi ride from the City centre and most of
the main hotels.
Barcelona airport
is the second busiest airport in Spain and in 2004 just under 25 million
passengers. Once at the airport your delegates have the choice of transferring
into the City centre by train, bus, taxi or private transfer.
You can of
course hire cars at the airport but if the Conference is in the centre of town
this is not something that we recommend.
If you are looking for flights
to Barcelona from the UK then you can choose from 11 different UK Airports:
Bristol, Coventry, Birmingham, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Heathrow, Liverpool,
Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow all have airlines who offer direct, scheduled
flights to Barcelona.
The main airlines offering flights from these
airports are: Bmi, Easyjet, Thomsonfly, Mytravellite, Monarch, British Airways,
Iberia, Jet2 and Flyglobespan.
The City is actually served by a second
airport at Girona. Although Girona Airport is about 90 kms north of Barcelona it
is now one of Ryanairs main hubs and receives flights from 31 different European
Cities on a daily basis. The transfer times from Girona to Barcelona City will
be about 60-90 minutes depending on the traffic.
Ryanair fly to Girona
from the following UK and Irish Airports: Bournemouth, Luton, Stansted, East
Midlands, Liverpool, Glasgow Prestwick, Dublin and Shannon.
