Malaga Airport Guide
Malaga and the Costa del Sol are great places to host any kind of conference.
The real benefits to the area are the fact that many of the
Malaga hotels have been receiving guests for over 30 years and know how to
look after them and of course the weather is fantastic all year round.
Malaga Airport is also one of the easiest airports to get to from the UK and
many other European Cities. In total there are over 118 different airports
offering direct flights to Malaga from around 30 different countries.
As
you would expect there are a large number of Internal Spanish flights to and
from Malaga Airport but surprisingly the UK and Germany offer more routes than
anyone else.
If a large number of your delegates are travelling from the
UK then the choice of routes, airlines and times on offer are staggering.
At the moment it is possible to fly to Malaga on regular, scheduled flights from
the following UK Airports: Aberdeen, Leeds, Belfast, Liverpool, Birmingham,
Gatwick, Bournemouth, Heathrow, Blackpool, Luton, Bristol, Manchester, Cardiff ,
Coventry, Newcastle, Doncaster, Newquay, Nott's East Mid's, Norwich, Edinburgh,
Southampton, Exeter, Stansted, Glasgow to Malaga Durham Tees Valley and
Humberside.
The flying time to Malaga from the UK is approximately 2½
hours and Malaga is one hour ahead at all times of the year. Once at the airport
the whole of the Costa del Sol is within a 1 hour transfer and the actual City
of Malaga is just 15 minutes away.
The Airport offers all the
facilities and services that you would expect at an airport that receives
over 12 million passengers each year and the only thing to bear in mind is that
the train service only goes as far as Fuengirola. If you are travelling further
along the coast to resorts such as Marbella or Estepona trains are not an
option.
Two other airports, Jerez Airport and Granada airport, are within
a couple hours drive of the Costa del Sol and if your delegates wanted to stay
on and explore a little more of Andalucia then it is possible to fly home from
either of these airports.
Granada is close to Europe's southern most ski
resort in the Sierra Nevada mountains and Jerez is famous throughout the world
for it's sherry making.
